Tour Summary
Our goal as we began re-energizing our CI program a few years ago was a strong focus on sustaining improvement and employee engagement. As we moved forward implementing 5S, visual management, and standard work, we wanted to ensure continuous improvement efforts were ongoing, recognized, and shared among all our sites. One of the key management practices we implemented was a weekly Gemba walk to get a pulse of the business while increasing communication and collaboration across all functions. On this tour, you will join our management team on our weekly Gemba walk and dive deeper into the behaviors, improvements, and CI systems along the way.
This tour will focus on:
- Why it’s important to start small
- The importance of change management
- The evolution of our Gemba walks and the department huddle boards/dashboards
- Learning what we deemed was important and valuable to share, and how to share it
- Increasing engagement and involvement from team members throughout the facility
- Showcasing employee led improvements
- Putting lean practices into action: Our evolving 5S audit program, Leader Standard Work, and Structured Problem Solving
