Webinar: Expanding 3H

Expanding 3H: What New Research Reveals About the Human Side of Leadership and Improvement
Most leaders are not missing the tools. New research on trust, psychological safety, and how the brain responds to threat and uncertainty is helping explain why improvement still stalls…and what to do about it.
Join myself, fellow NWHPEC leaders, and 3H Leadership facilitators Kari Penca and Dan Miller on July 20 at 1 PM. Drawing on the latest neuroscience and relationship research, this session reflects how 3H thinking has deepened, and what that means for your leadership practice. We'll focus on the real breakdowns leaders are experiencing and what it takes to move from reactive problem-solving to proactive, trust-based leadership.
In this webinar, you will gain insight to:
-
Why continuous improvement breaks down in the relational space, not the technical one
-
How lack of trust and psychological safety leads to rework, waste, and missed signals
-
The power of surfacing near misses and leading indicators to prevent problems
-
What it takes to shift from reactive leadership to proactive, preventative leadership
-
Practical relational leadership levers aligned with 3H Lean Leadership (Head, Heart, Hands)
Whether you've been through 3H Leadership: Engaging the Heart, Head, and Hands (formerly Lean and the Human Element) before or are new to these concepts, this session offers something worth your hour: a candid look at what the latest research is surfacing, what's really getting in the way, and how to lead through it more effectively.

Training SIG
Training SIG
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Zoom (mostly)
Throughout 2026 we will be meeting on the 3rd Tuesdays at 11am (Pacific). NWHPEC members can reach out to Jennifer if you're interested in joining.
Agendas may be pre-defined, or they may be ad-hoc. We’ll discuss this at the end of each meeting, and I’ll communicate it in advance. If we have an opportunity to do an in-person demo, I’ll make an adjustment to timeslot.
What do we talk about at the Training SIG?
Over the past few years, we’ve tackled topics like: adult learning, creating engaging virtual sessions, online learning (software and training development), onboarding programs, train the trainer (including TWI Job Instruction), and much more. We’ve met in person to experience and provide feedback on trainings like: Lean 101 with Chocolate Chip Cookies and Train the Trainer. We’ve created a resource board and are open to sharing our training plans and training resources we’ve discovered or developed. This group is made up of passionate learning and development professionals who love to talk about challenges, brainstorm training ideas, and demo their training for feedback.
What is a Special Interest Group?
Special Interest Groups, or SIGs, are member-started, led, and disbanded. They start with an individual who is interested in learning from and connecting with others on a particular topic. The focus is on learning together, sharing together, and supporting each other on the given topic. After the SIG has learned all they planned to learn, they decide if they want to continue meeting or disband. SIGs are a great way to leverage the combined experiences and knowledge within NWHPEC!
