Intended AudienceThis session is open to any individual within your organization who is interested in working on themselves!  Additionally, leadership teams, CEO’s, Presidents, Vice Presidents, Executive Leaders, General Managers, Managers, Lean Leaders, and those facilitating change within their companies are invited to attend.

Fee per Session:     $125.00 per person.  Payment can be made via credit card or check made payable to NWHPEC.  Payment must be received no later than one week prior to this event.  Cancellations will be honored up to one week prior to the event.  Please note:  A 10% fee will be assessed for canceling your attendance if payment was made via credit card.  “No shows” will not receive a refund or account credit.

Lean and the Human Element – Tools for Conscious Leadership:

At any level in the organization, leaders can create environments where people can interact in conscious ways.  When this occurs, productivity, quality, and safety metrics improve.  The ability to build good relationships between people throughout the workplace is essential at all levels.  When these relationships breakdown, information is withheld, immovable positions are taken, and interpersonal dramas escalate.  To create and sustain a high performance organization individuals and teams must develop the ability to take healthy responsibility for how they present themselves at work.

This series turns the scope inward and focuses on you; the personal responsibility you take every day to own your attitude and relationships.  We will explore what taking 100% responsibility looks like and learn how to utilize this power.  These sessions will provide proven strategies to reduce personal and workplace drama and increase organizational performance.

Key Content:

Part I:  Managing People:

  • Examine the relationship between organizational missions, operational goals and performance objectives
  • Develop strategies to understand and manage Human Performance
  • Identify the impacts individuals have on organizational and department culture
  • Learn how to create relationships to connect with the needs of others
  • Review a needs based model of motivation and develop specific strategies to meet different levels of needs

Part II:  Tools for Conscious Leadership

  • Stir the Paint – Managing People
  • Learn to identify and understand needs and how to fulfill them
  • Develop an understanding of the drama triangle and its three positions
  • Explore your relationship with responsibility, payoffs, and costs
  • Develop strategies for stepping into 100% healthy responsibility
  • Explore how to navigate slippery relationships to turn them into healthy and productive relationships

Part III:  Personal Communication and Responding to Criticism

  • Stir the Paint – Managing People and Tools for Conscious Leadership
  • Review the potential barriers to sending and receiving verbal messages
  • Examine strategies to improve staging interactions effectively
  • Identify the importance of non-verbal awareness in self and others
  • Discuss and practice a variety of active listening techniques
  • Practice active listening skills and using the 6-step Responding to Criticism Model

Part IV:  Constructive Confrontation

  • Stir the Paint – Managing People, Tools for Conscious Leadership, Personal Communication, and Responding to Criticism
  • Identify personal preferences to approaching confrontation and raising issues with others
  • Complete the constructive confrontation worksheet using a “real life” situation
  • Practice the 5-step Confrontation Model
  • Provide feedback for improvement based on peer observations

Part V:  Managing Change and Transition

  • Stir the Paint – Managing People, Tools for Conscious Leadership, Personal Communication, Responding to Criticism, and Constructive Confrontation
  • Understand the differences between change and transition
  • Learn the phases of transition
  • Gain insight into resistance and the grief cycle
  • Learn how to navigate through the neutral zone
