This Winter's book selection is The Work of Management by Jim Lancaster.  About the book: "The role of Daily Management - Gemba Walks, Leader Standard Work, and good Tiered Accountability is often undervalued when discussing business transformation. This Fall’s book is The Kind Leader – A Practical Guide to Eliminating Fear, Creating Trust, and Leading with Kindness. If you haven’t participated in one of our book clubs before, I highly recommend signing up for this one.  This is a great opportunity to read a great book and dive into some great discussions with a fabulous group of people from throughout the HPEC community.  We have a lot of fun while increasing our perspective and holding each other accountable (for reading and practicing new habits).  It’s low-key, engaging, and enlightening.  We meet weekly to discuss the assigned chapters and even if you had a busy week and couldn’t complete the reading, we still encourage you to come and participate.  Written by a NWHPEC favorite, Karyn Ross, this book explores why…

Book Club
It’s book club time again! We will be reading and discussing The Toyota Engagement Equation by Tracey and Ernie Richardson (11:30 am Thursdsays, 7-weeks).   Many of you met Tracey and Ernie Richardson when they led some workshops for NWHPEC back in 2019.  If you haven’t read their book – now is the time! This deep dive into the company’s game-changing work practices reveals how employees were developed, how they were taught to spot and define problems through standardization, how they were coached to solve them, and how they were encouraged to improve their thinking as they moved forward. Our book club is a casual experience that allows you to read the assigned reading throughout the week and participate in some deep-dive conversations with the group. It's okay if you miss…
